Position: Sous Chef for New Casual Fine Dining Opening in NYC’s West Village - Realmuto Group Location: West Village, NYC Employment Type: Full-Time Company Description: The Realmuto Group is excited to announce the opening of its latest gem in the heart of the West Village. Our new restaurant, embracing a casual fine dining philosophy, is committed to bringing a fresh interpretation of classic Italian cuisine in a welcoming yet refined atmosphere. As we prepare for this eagerly awaited opening, we are seeking a passionate and experienced Sous Chef to join our culinary team. Position Overview: As a Sous Chef at our new establishment, you will play a crucial role in the kitchen's day-to-day operations, supporting the Head Chef in leading our team to deliver exceptional Italian dishes. This position offers a fantastic opportunity to work within an innovative and supportive environment, where your skills and passion for Italian cuisine will be highly valued and nurtured. Responsibilities: Assist the Head Chef in menu development and execution, ensuring each dish meets our high standards of quality and creativity. Supervise and mentor kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative and efficient working environment. Manage inventory and order supplies, maintaining optimal stock levels and managing cost control. Ensure the kitchen adheres to health and safety regulations, maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation. Participate in staff training and development initiatives, promoting continuous learning and culinary excellence. Qualifications: Proven experience as a Sous Chef, ideally within a fine dining or high-end Italian restaurant. A deep understanding of Italian cuisine and ingredients, with a passion for culinary innovation. Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively. Excellent organizational and time-management abilities. A commitment to upholding health and safety standards in the kitchen. Culinary degree or relevant certifications are preferred.
